A 2010 computer is 5+ years old and Apple drops hardware support after 5 years. By Apple's reckoning your computer is ready for retirement, but for many of us a 2010 computer is still relatively modern (until 2 months ago I was using a 2002 G4 as my primary computer. You decide on how much you need a newer, faster computer (plus any software you may have to buy as a result of this) and if you have the money.
