Q: Why did 700 tracks ripped from CD change from "AAC" to "Matched AAC"?

I want to upload some of my ripped music to another service for testing, and when I try, on the 700 tracks in question, I get "Invalid format" and when I look at the Type under Get Info in iTUnes, I see the tracks are now "Matched AAC".

Is there a way to get my ripped music back or have I lost it for all time?

Thanks,

    Hi,

iTunes match does not automatically change the format when the music is added to the iCloud music library. The format would have changed when you deleted the original and downloaded the matched version.

Did you back up your music before subscribing to Match? If so, you can retrieve the originals from that back up. Alternative you can convert the existing tracks to the other format or rerip the original CD.
