Q: Why can't I use the Apple Support site community discussions on Safari?  Only on Firefox?

Why can't I use the "new" Apple Support site community discussions on Safari?  Only on Firefox?

I'm an exclusive user of Apple products since 1986 currently on a MacBook Pro Retina using all the latest software and OS.  I've had great experience in the Support Communities throughout that time.  I rely on the great folks who help each other out there.

Ever since Apple "upgraded" the support site I can no longer log on to communities via Safari and compose a post.

Trust me when I say this without giving the whole explanation of what actual strange things happen.

On Firefox the support site is flawless for me.  Just like it's always been.

I haven't tried Chrome.

But Safari!!???  Apple's own browser??

Does anyone else have this problem??

Is this a bug that Apple needs to address or just some sort of an anomaly of my setup?

Steve

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), Safari 8.0.8, Mail 9.2, Contacts 9.

Obviously I was forced to even submit my post via Firefox...

I see I need to update my profile

    I'm on Safari 9.1.1, and OsX 10.11.5

and my Safari seems to work fine with everything else on the web....

    Hi,

"No problems accessing ASC on Safari 9.1.1 and El Capitan v10.11.5 here."

    Apparently, yes.

    Might be a cookie problem.

Go to Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab then click:  Remove All Website Data

Quit then relaunch Safari then try ASC.

If that didn't help, try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plug-ins.

      Replying from Firefox

Uninstalled all 3 extensions.  Turned off everything I could find in preferences pertaining to plug-ins.  Removed all website data after almost each try.

Nada!  Still when I clicked on your post to write this response I got nothing.  No form opened to write any response.  On my current Safari, many of the links on the support site seem not to function at all.

    ???

I felt optimistic when I read your post.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Back to square 1 with all plug-ins and extensions turned off (extensions uninstalled).

    Anybody got another idea?

Try running this program and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
