Some other users have recently reported experiencing similar issues.
If the watch's internal temperature exceeds the normal operating range and it cannot be regulated via other methods, Apple Watch can automatically enter into a deep sleep mode. Check that you are following Apple's guidelines for keeping your watch within acceptable operating temperatures:
