Hi. After the last Time Capsule firmware update i´m getting this error message (error OSStatus 2) and can´t make backups to TC anymore. (iMac 27" with El Capitán)
Time Capsule 3Tb-OTHER
This error typically relates to user permissions, specifically not have the correct ones to access the Time Capsule. One quick test is to log on to your Mac with an Administrator account, and then, attempt a Time Machine backup. If it works, then you verified a permissions issue with your user account.
Some additional help may be found in this Pondini article.
Hi. I tried to do what you told me but when I tried to select the Backup disk (Data in Time Capsule), that´s when i get the OOSStatus Error 2 Time Machine can´t access backup disk "Data"
Try this: Open AirPort Utility on the Mac, see any yellow or red 'flags' associated with the Time Capsule?
No, just the green dot
OK, let's try this: Click on the Time Machine icon (upper menu bar), then Open Time Machine Preferences.
Note: In order to perform the Remove and Add functions, the Preferences window must be unlocked. You can do that by clicking on the Padlock image, lower left corner of the Preferences window.
There is no Disk listed. When I chose "select backup disk", i get 3 choices: Bootcamp, Data (on Airport Time Capsule), Other Airport Time Capsule. If I chose Data, then I get the OSStatus Error 2.
OK, some screen shots would really help.
Very interesting, and puzzling. As mentioned above in an earlier post, it is likely you have a permission problem. But where does it originate from? That is the question.
I experience exactly the same issues. How can this be solved?
Stick around....we're trying to come up with a solution. Actually more like, we are trying to define the root cause of the problem.
Hi. I don´t know what happened, but last night Time Machine did a backup, and now the "Data" disk is selecto as the backup disk. Here is a screenshot
I didn´t change anything. Just happened. Answering to your questions: I was looged as an Administrator user, i don´t know if the disk was always labbeled Data, I believe so but i can be sure. And for the third question, well, now that TM is working i don´t dare to change disks
I did select Data disk, but only to get the error again and post a screenshot, and went to sleep, but to my surprise, today I found the backup done, and no error
Congratulations...and I agree, don't mess with success/change anything.
Thank you for your time
