Q: Keynote Presention Distorted

I have a strange issue with Keynote (6.6.2 on El Capitan) Presentations on some projectors. The projected presentation is horizontally squished so that the projected image is not the same aspect as on the computer. It doesn't look quite as bad on 16:9 as it does on 4:3, but it is still noticeably distorted. I have tried all possible options that MacOS gives me for projector resolution as well as a second MacBook Pro (this one without Retina Display), and the problem persists. Again, this is only certain projectors; most projectors work fine. Also, my desktop is not distorted, only Keynote when in presentation mode.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Set the pixel resolution of Keynote to match the pixel resolution of the specific projector being used in:

If the projector has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, set that valuse in Keynote slide size:

Inspector > Document > Document >     select custom in the slide size dropdown menu

Thanks! That turned out to be a key piece of it. I had to manually override the projector resolution (by holding option while selecting scaled in display preferences), and make it exactly the same as the slide resolution. It seems like OSX is incorrectly detecting the projector resolution, but it was hardly noticeable on the Desktop, whereas it was much more obvious on the Keynote slides.
