cant restore mountain lion

hello i havea mid 2010 imac 27 i update to mountain lion and im going to sell it i want to put it back to zero with mountain lion but cant restore i tried con the recovery and it keeps saying an error and that i should see app store i downloaded again from app store but dunno how to format it now
