Opening file on a PC from iPad

Is it possible to link from a .pdf document on my iPad 2 to a file on a PC which is on the same WiFi network? To put it another way: I have a .pdf document on the iPad, which contains hyperlinks to files on the PC. Can I set it up so that I can click on the link embedded in the .pdf and open the file on the PC? If so, how do I do that?

Essentially, I have a lot of music files on the PC, and I'd like to be able to cue them and play them from the iPad. Is there a better way to do that, an app perhaps?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iOS 9.3.2
