Q: What comes first, Apple ID or iCloud email address?
It's such a basic question, I'm embarrassed to even ask it, but...
My wife finally graduated to needing her own Apple ID. We didn't share mine, she just didn't need one before. She always had her own user account on the Mac.
When I go to set up an Apple ID for her, the first field is asking for her email / ID, which should be her new-to-be-set up @iCloud.com email address.
When I go to Internet Accounts, however, it's asking for her Apple ID and password when I try to set up the @iCloud.com email account.
Which comes first, or am I missing something completely obvious?
OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), null

For the record, the way to do this is to START with setting up the new Apple ID.
If the user has no @icloud.com email address, one can "branch off" and set it up, then finish up the Apple ID setup. Trying to do this by attempting to set up the email address first does not work this smoothly.
