RAM: PC2700 DDR or PC2100 DDR

I have an 17 inch 1gHz imac g4. I want to upgrade memory. in my j20 slot, it says "DDR SDRAM". When given an option the website, I only see PC2700 and PC2100....how do i know which to get....do I get either?

iMac G4, Mac OS X (10.2.x)

User uploaded fileThat model iMac shipped with PC2100, but typically if you use faster RAM than what is called for, the RAM will downclock itself to the speed of the memory bus.

That said, if you have a choice betweenthe two speeds and the prices are close enough, go with the one that matches Apple specs - PC2100.

As long as you buy from a reseller that guarantees Mac compatibility and has a lifetime replacement warrantee, you are as safe as could be reasonably expected.
