Q: Superdrive not drawing power from MacBook
I've had a USB Superdrive for about a year--as long as I've had my MacBook Air from early 2014. I don't use it very often, but it's been working fine.
Today the "Superdrive needs power" alert popped up when I plugged it into my USB port, and no matter which port it's plugged into no charging seems to happen. I left it plugged in all night and there was no change. There is a DVD stuck in it right now.
Should I try just plugging it into the wall? Is the Superdrive broken?
MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Reset SMC. Choose the method for “On Mac notebooks with non-removable battery”.
