Had an Email from MacPaw saying I could speed up my computer in El Capitan with their 5 steps. Is this worth doing? Is MacPaw safe? Thank you.

Furthermore, stay away from all programs that purport to "clean your Mac". They can do damage to your system. Your Mac needs no cleaning in the first place. All the cleaning that is necessary is taken care routinely by OS X.
Here's some general advice.
Anytime you get unsolicited email suggesting you will get some benefit out of using their product, service, shampoo, or whatever, you should start with the assumption that it is a scam. You will be correct many, many more times than you will be wrong.
No. Report the email as spam or delete it. MacPaw is the perpetrator behind the "CleanMyMac" scam.
Do NOT install their software, it's practically malware! It's borked many Mac systems.
