Q: I can't download a TV show from iTunes to my iPod Touch because "there is not enough available storage".  Is it possible to delete tv shows that I've watched in order to create more space for new TV shows?

Yes, try swiping the old ones left and right ( I do not remember the correct direction) . A Delete button should appear. Just tap it.

When I try to delete a TV show, I'm only offered the option of "hiding" them.  I can't see any way of actually getting them off my Mac Air or iPod.

In what app or album are the TV shows?

The TV shows were downloaded from iTunes.  On my Mac Air, they are in iTunes under "TV Shows".  On my iPod Touch they are in "Videos" but have been synched from iTunes.  I've "hidden" a bunch of TV shows which I believe means that they are in iCloud but are not showing on either the Air or the iPod.  I really don't want to keep them and would love to just get rid of them, if possible.

    From the manual:

    http://help.apple.com/ipod-touch/9/#/iph564ebc92a

Delete a video. Tap Edit in the upper right of your collection, then tap the delete button on the video thumbnail. If you don’t see the Edit button, look for the cloud symbol on your video thumbnails—those videos haven’t been downloaded to iPod touch, so you can’t delete them. To delete an individual episode of a series, swipe left on the episode in the Episodes list.

Deleting a video (other than a rented movie) from iPod touch doesn’t delete it from the iTunes library on your computer, and you can sync the video back to iPod touch later. If you don’t want to sync the video back to iPod touch, set iTunes to not sync the video. See Sync with iTunes.
