Jun 12, 2016 10:49 AM in response to John from Clevelandby lllaass,iTunes and App Store purchases are tied to the ID used to purchase them. Purchases can't be transferred between ID's.
I would start over again on the new Mac by:

and then resetup the Mac with the old ID

Jun 12, 2016 11:45 AM in response to lllaassby John from Cleveland,That sounds a little drastic. I have Office 2016, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop installed. And the only way I can use a different Apple ID is to reset the machine and re-install all these apps? I would accept creating a new account. I was just wishing there was an easy way to switch the Apple ID for the existing account. I can accept having to re-enter my saved passwords and other user preferences if necessary. But I sure don't want to reformat my hard drive and start all over.

Jun 12, 2016 12:27 PM in response to John from Clevelandby lllaass,The Apple ID can be changed but it is in many place on the Mac. You have to go to each place and sign out and sign in with the old ID.
To update OSX you also have to sign into the new ID in the Mac App Store. However, that creates problems since yo can only change IDs every 90 days. See:
