Q: Can't Upgrade Win7.1 to Win10
I've installed Win 7 Home Premium on a MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012 ... full specifications below) and updated it to Service Pack (SP) 1.
Bootcamp created a 48GB partition for Windows and Windows Explorer reports that that there is about 20.9GB of free space on the the boot drive.
The Windows 10 update specifications say that 20BG of free space is needed (for the 64-bit version). When I run the Win10 Update Installer, it says that my Mac meets the requirements ... but when I click download, I get error 0x80070070 which means that there isn't enough free space for the installation.
What is wrong? Why does the installer say that I don't have enough free space? More precisely, how do I get the Win10 upgrade installed; how much free space should Windows Explorer say I have in order for the Installer to run?
Bootcamp won't let me make the Windows partition much larger given the files I currently have on my SSD. Before I do all kinds of reconfiguration to make more space, let me ask: Has anyone gotten Win7 to upgrade to Win10 on Bootcamp?
Thanks for your help.

I followed the instructions on this page:
I created a Win10 install on a USB3 Flash Drive. It took a few hours to download the ISO and then run the Win10 setup, but it worked perfectly!
