Windows 10-Does not Recognize my iPhone 4S

Have tried almost everything on Apple forums including the following Link: http://www.copytrans.net/blog/solved-computer-and-itunes-not-recognizing-iphone- all-you-need-to-know-to-get-it-fixed/.

Wish to empty my iPhone from Photos/Videos to free up space; Upgraded to Windows 10 about 6 weeks ago and since then, all was ok and my iPhone was being recognized and could (amongst others) download my photos to my PC and had the phone with more space. ICloud (Library) uploading is not an option, as would prefer iPhone to Computer connection direct. To aid my fellow readers who wish to help me My Computer prompts me that the USB Device has malfunctioned and therefore is not recognized. Using USB ports in the front part of my Desktop (Tower) and then switched to a USB port to the back of my PC; no joy still, no positive outcome, and in the Device Manager the Apple Mobile Device/Communication USB drive is not anywhere to be seen. All I get when I connect my iPhone is "Unknown USB Device" with a Yellow Exclamation Triange...

Thanks very much in advance for the advice!

Sincerely,

Ep.

Hi Ep and welcome to Apple support Communities,

While I don't use Windows 10, I do know that it has a pain of a time recognizing older Apple hardware. Try the steps laid out in this tutorial I will send you and hopefully your phone will be working with W10 very soon.

Hope it helps you.
