Burst photos when timer is on

Whenever I turn on the timer in the camera of my iPhone 6s, it captures multiple photos even if I only tapped the capture button. Why does this happens to my camera? Can anyone help me?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.0.2

How can I delete the other 9 pictures from my photos? It does not give that option. If you save, it saves all 10. If you delete, it deletes all 10.

Can we just disable bursts?

There is another way...stop using iPhones and the EXTREMELY annoying features...buy and use another brand. I have been an Apple/Mac user, since 1990 and they are driving me to Samsung, LG or anything that does not gobble memory with FEATURES that cannot be turned off.

Good bye Apple...I will am turning Off BURST forever âť—âť—âť—âť—âť—âť—âť—âť—

Found this by Googling the question. Tried it and it does work although there will be a flash.

Don't know about the #2, I never hold the capture button down and always get bursts.

How to Disable/Turned off burst mode on iPhone

  1. Turn on the “FLASH”. Burst mode automatically disabled.
  2. Also do not hold the capture button down. Just press and release.
