As an option you may add additional details in the next post.

Hi Shiv and welcome to Apple Support Communities,

Underneath each post you make there is a box with a downward pointing arrow inside it, click that and "edit post" should be listed inside; alternatively you can always replay to your post and 'add' more details in an additional post.

    Hope that helps you.

    Regards,

    Peter.

Well, what I see is a 'link to this post' under the drop down you described, while a dropdown to the right of my original post only has a 'bookmark' to it...

Then this should be added. What If I need to change the title or edit it, or add in details that required me to record in real time and post them here? Like messages from the console or anything like that? I don't like the idea on adding replies every time.

And I think the 'delete' option too should be there, which I don't see at all. There are some of posts that are old and need to be deleted.

If you have new information, just add it as a new reply to your post.

You have 15 minutes from the original time of posting to edit a post. One potential problem with having unlimited time is that there may have been replies, if people had unlimited edit time those replies may no longer apply and the thread becomes difficult to follow - if additional info is relevant it should be added in additional posts.

There are some of posts that are old and need to be deleted.

You can't delete posts (only the hosts can potentially delete a post or thread e.g. if they violate the forum's terms of use), old threads are potentially useful to other people e.g. people with older hardware / OS / software may have the same problem/question.

Thanks. That was something. But what about such threads that have become older than like six months and have had no replies yet? Can we delete those?

We (users) don't have the ability to delete any posts, including old ones with no replies - and it's possible that if somebody else has the same question they may find the post via google, and if they (or the original poster) finds a solution they might come back and post it, so it's potentially useful to keep them.
