Q: LCD Screen Snow
I have tested with new cables, new Apple display port to DVI and HDM to DVI adapters and a different models of new Viewsonic LED LCDs. All the connections are solid.
The issue that the monitors go to "snow" for no apparent reason. I thought it was because of 2 monitors being attached and it seems to happen less with monitor attached to either HDMI or display port, yet it just happened with a 2012 MBP with one new monitor, new adapter and newish DVI cable.
Sometimes its when system wakes from sleep. Sometimes it just happens.
As mentioned snow occurs on multiple models of Macs including MPB 2012 and 2014 Mini.
I tried added screensaver. I tried turning sleep off and on and actually with sleep setting on for computer and LCDs it seems to fix the snow issue yet it takes 30 seconds for monitors to wake...
I also tried a complete reformat/reinstall of OS X 10.10.5 and the issue remains.
If the users cycle power on the affected LCDs, most times the snow goes away, so that is our temp solution yet I'm still investigating a cause.
Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
