Necessary size of USB flash drive for El Capitan?
What size does the USB flash drive have to have for it to contain a bootable installer of El Capitan?
Planning on upgrading my HD to a SSD and want to reboot from a USB stick.

The OS X El Capitan installer takes about 4-5 GB of storage, so I suggest you to use a 8 GB USB drive at least to create a bootable OS X El Capitan installer.
I just tried a 8GB stick (after formatting 7.2GB) and it ended up using 5.8 GB of it. Thanks for your quick answers!
