I downloaded the MX922 Canon printer driver and have set up the new printer. I have OS X 10.11.5. I can't find printer drivers in the window where my other printers are shown. How do I get my Macbook to recognize my printer?

I downloaded these two drivers. I turned off and restarted both the printer and the computer. I still don't know how to get the printer driver recognized in the system preferences printer window. It doesn't show up. There's nothing in the menu. When I click on the plus sign nothing happens.
I looked at the other link and didn't find Pixma MX922 listed for the tutorials. It doesn't see the printer in the sense that the list menu is empty. When I click on the plus sign (for add printer?) nothing happens. I don't see the CUPS driver or any other drivers. I thought there was supposed to be a list
