iCloud 5.2 is not working with Outlook 2016

Recently upgraded to Outlook 2016 with Office 365 and I can't get iCloud to work within Outlook

I've uninstalled iCloud, restarted then downloaded/installed latest iCloud version (5.2, I think)

When I check the box on Mail, Calendars, Contacts and Tasks within iCloud, it says Setting Up and has been that way for about an hour.

Does anyone have any additional troubleshooting steps?

I have finally resolved the issue but complete uninstall of Office 2016, registry clean-up and clean install of Office 2016 (x64). I had to repaire iCloud installation afterwards, sign off and sign back in iCloud, setup the connection with Outlook 2016 in iCloud control panel. And now, finally, everything is up and syncing as it should. :-) Hope it helps someone else.

Hi there OkiePaynes,

It sounds like you're having difficulties getting iCloud to function properly on Windows 10. I rely on iCloud services daily so I know you want to get this resolved as soon as possible. Uninstalling and reinstalling is some good initial troublsehooting. I have an article below that discusses the entire process:

Set up and use iCloud for Windows

Take care!

I have the same issue. Every time I clicked on 'Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks' in iCloud for Windows, the check mark would disappeared.

The iCloud Outlook Add-in is in Outlook under Options. However, I don't see any iCloud data file created when I go into Account Settings | Data Files. Another thing I noticed is there are crash dumps generated in C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\CrashDumps. The names of these dumps are AppleOutlookDAVConfig.exe.NNNN.dmp where NNNN are numbers.

I tried uninstall/re-install/repair - nothing is helping at all.

I have exactly the same problem using the latest version of iCloud. I have Office 2016 (not Office 365) and Windows 10 and when I try to install iCloud it stays saying "setting up" next to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Tasks". I left it for hours and it didn't progress beyond this stage. Outlook shows the Add-in listed but it isn't doing anything. I have tried removing all Apple software and reinstalling iCloud to no avail. I have removed and reinstalled MS Office and then tried to reinstall iCloud - again no luck.

I have exactly the same problem with iCloud 5.2 on one Dell laptop running Office 2016 (32 bit) and Windows 10. On another Dell laptop running Office 2013 (32 bit) and Windows 10, iCloud 5.2 works perfectly. On the one that doesn't work I too have tried reinstalling Office and iCloud and each time it just sits there saying "setting up" next to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Tasks". Other Add-ins to Outlook such as Kaspersky install perfectly on both laptops.

I have the same problem with a Lenovo laptop running Windows 10 and Office 2016. The iCloud Outlook Add-in shows Active in Outlook.

I found that iCloud hangs saying “Setting Up” the first time after installation. If you cancel it and start again, re-tick the box and Apply, it either comes back with a blank box, or it comes back with a ticked box which is actually a lie: if you close iCloud and re-open it, the box is unticked.

If you look at the Event Viewer (Windows key, type Event Viewer), it shows an error at the time you clicked Apply. Expand Windows Logs in the left-hand pane of the Event Viewer, and click on Application. Error is shown below, but I’m none-the-wiser. I have raised this on Microsoft’s Support forum, and will post here if anyone suggests a resolution. For reference, the thread is here:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2016-outlook/communicati ng-between-outlook-and-icloud-icloud/f8d7802d-a51c-4af9-bb6a-c8f6556049cd?tm=146 6442835668.

Might be worth noting that I have this working correctly on another Dell laptop also running Windows 10 and Outlook 2016, with a different Apple ID for iCloud. Can’t spot the difference, and the working Apple ID doesn’t work on this Lenovo laptop, so perhaps it’s a PC configuration issue.
