Iphone email and Comcast

Just recently I was forced to use the IMAP instead of the POP server on my Iphone. I understand that this enables all your devices to sync (like my Ipad). However, I do not like that when I delete off my Iphone or Ipad, that it deletes the messages off the server. I use Outlook and control my email in that way from my desktop. Can someone please help me with this issue? Is there a setting I am not seeing that will allow mail to not be deleted off the server like in the past?

I have Comcast Xfinity email. I prefer the IMAP account to the POP account because of the fact that actions on one device are reflected across devices. There are settings in the email preferences of your Xfinity email account to allow for emails in the trash folder to stay there for 90 days before deletion, I have mine set to 30 days. if I haven't retrieved it within 30 days, I figure I don't need it.

Another great thing about IMAP accounts is that you can create folders to save emails that you want to keep.
