Jun 14, 2016 7:55 PM in response to R-J-Kby Cheryl Zuckerman,"Reloading" a page does not work in iTunes (MBP 2014, 10.10.5, iTunes 12.4,1,6).
What DOES work, I discovered (at least to see newer apps to update) is to select one of your devices from the drop-down, then click "DONE" on the bottom right.
That will take you back to the "Check for Updates" screen which auto-loads any updates to apps you have in your library (it'll still show Podcasts and Find My Friends as needing update, but they won't actually update).
I'll call this a bug on Apple's part, or an unintended feature, and hopefully the issue will be resolved with iOS 10 or a subsequent iTunes update.

Jun 15, 2016 1:01 AM in response to Cheryl Zuckermanby Glenn S. Tenney,I've got this problem (find friends and podcasts) on Mac iTunes too...
To get itunes to refresh it's list of updates, click "app store" (to the right of "updates"); then click the "updates" button to get back and... it refreshes the updates page.

Jun 15, 2016 2:24 PM in response to Reed4by greenhse,Find My Friends & Podcast apps not updating, and also with illogical accompanying message - it does not make sense at all.
Let's not get stuck on trying to work it out, as it is clearly (ANOTHER) a system bug.
I'm sure it will be resolved soon, but oh so annoying!

Jun 15, 2016 2:50 PM in response to greenhseby Macsterguy,Not stuck... A permanent fix is to: The apps can be deleted in iTunes desktop. They remain and will update in iOS. I PROMISE. Yes apple will sort it out but it's tJust that easy - I Promise... (again)

Jun 15, 2016 2:54 PM in response to Macsterguyby lunayconsuela,Indeed, and that's the only right solution. These Apps shoulddn't be on your Mac anyway.

Jun 15, 2016 6:14 PM in response to R-J-Kby rsouviney,The CTRL + R does reload the App Update page, but doesn't update or remove the "stuck" Podcasts and Find My Friends apps. I CRTL-click on each stuck app and deleted it. Now CTRL + R scans to see if any updates are available as expected.

Jun 17, 2016 3:06 AM in response to Macsterguyby Reed4,Why would I want to delete this from iTunes on my MBA? I value my iTunes directory of mobile apps, and the app ipa's, just in case, if you know what I mean.
In any case, Apple has made this a very annoying situation as others have mentioned.
iTunes on my MBA continues to provide errors when trying to update both Find My Friends and Podcasts apps.
For FMF's the update indicates that V4.1, dated June 13, 2016 is the latest. The app currently on my MBA itunes is V4.0.1, dated Oct 20, 2014. Unable to determine what version is on my iPhone 6s, since this app is not listed within the iPhone settings.
For Podcast's the update indicates that V2.3, dated June 13, 2016 is the latest. The app currently on my MBA itunes is V2.2, dated Sept 17, 2014, om my iPhone 6s it shows as version 2.4. Not an insignificant difference.
Then Apple provides instructions on how to do update on ios devices, that doesn't appear to work.
Very disappointing from a company that extols the virtue of keeping s/w current and up to date. Having this sloppiness with Google apps is expected, but not with Apple.
Granted that I am somewhat anal retentive, but just want things to work as expected, and want to minimize doubts about usability.

Jun 17, 2016 3:27 AM in response to R-J-Kby Redtayp,This sounds like exactly what I am experiencing. It looks like I can delete the app at the update screen but everything seems to be working otherwise so I'm reluctant to fix something that isn't broken. I'm going to follow Rysz's suggestion below and ignore it for a while to see if it resolves itself.

Jun 17, 2016 4:23 AM in response to Redtaypby jsjbmail,I just deleted podcasts app from the itunes update page (but kept the files), then did a sync of my iP6s and voila, podcasts is still on my phone and not on the "update" screen.
You would think Apple would know about this glitch and fix it, but I think we have found our own fix.!

Jun 17, 2016 4:46 AM in response to Reed4by lunayconsuela,Like you I value the integrity of my downloads, documents, media, system files etc...
That is exactly the reason you want to delete these ipas it from your iTunes Library, they don't belong there.
Both these apps are standard apps that are on your iPhone the first time you turn it on and you can't delete them unlike Numbers, iMovie etc...
Since the last update there seems to have been a small bug that copies those ipas to your iTunes Library (or downloads them from the web), resulting in the problem we all experience.
Deleting them is the solution that not only fixes the problem but puts your iTunes Library back in it's previous state.
If you have a Time Machine backup, check if you can find those ipas there before the problem occurred to verify.
It's just a bug people, there are a whole lot more of them and they can be a lot worse.
What I find a lot more annoying is they simplified the top bar in iTunes where you go to apps, music, ... and switch between your different devices to simplify navigation. Didn't simplify anything, didn't complicate it either, just made it more annoying and takes more steps.

Jun 18, 2016 12:47 AM in response to Reed4by graf357,Reed 4, I think you are confusing the 'app' on your MBA, with the 'App' that is in the iTunes window for your iPhone. You don't need to delete the app from MBA, just the App in iTunes for your iPhone / iPad.
So in iTunes, go to Apps, and that will show you the apps that you have for your iPhone / iPad etc. It is this list of apps that you need to delete Find my Friends and Podcasts from. I just did it and it doesn't delete them from my iPhone when I sync, it just gets rid of the pesky update message. Hope that helps explain it.

Jun 21, 2016 1:49 AM in response to graf357by Reed4,graf357, thanks for the suggestion. I did this for only Podcasts and the request to update on my MBA iTunes did go away. Given this , how does one know what version they have installed and if it is the most current? Not significant to me since I have minimal Podcast subscriptions and Apple has screwed this up in the past.
I am very reluctant to do this with FMF's, since this is significant to me and my family and safeguards.

Jun 21, 2016 5:53 AM in response to Reed4by Macsterguy,How do you know what "Version" "Find my iPhone" or, "iTunes iOS", "Apple Flashlight" and the other's are? At some point it's up to Apple... Deleting these apps does not cause a problem as I said at the beginning of this thread. The Podcast and Find My Friends should have never been in iTunes on PC's from the beginning... FMF and Podcast in iOS are not affected by deletion on PC's. Not sure how else or how many times this can be said...?
