Q: iTunes App update not happening.

I am now unable to update Find My Friends within iTunes.

I get the following message;

Find My Friends is only available on iOS.

To get Find My Friends, search for it on the App Store on your iOS device.

When I open and search for this on my iPhone 6s, the app doesn't appear.

Ditto for the Podcasts app.

Am I doing something wrong, is is there a glitch on Apple's end?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

These apps came in the iTunes folder on your Mac from an iTunes update when IOS10 was announced and shouldn't be in that folder.

You could call it a bug.

Simply right click on the app in the iTunes update window and choose delete.

Otherwise, navigate to your iTunes folder and there go to iTunes Media/Mobile Applications/ and delete them there.

Thanks, it is clearly a bug. I hope they will do something against it and not just leave as it is until IOS 10... yesterday it also popped up in my phone as well... so now I need to carry a red 1 at the app store icon I hope that the interim solution is on the way.

    Hi everyone,

    I'm Laurent from France.

I do have the same problem with Podcasts App that doesn't update in iTunes (12.4 version)

The update version available is 2.3 version.

So I looked on my iOS device (iPhone 5c), and saw that the podcasts app were in 2.4 version !

This is probably the good explanation of our problem.

Please each others, see with "find friends" app, because I do not have any problems with it.

    Have a nice day,

    Bye

I would encourage everyone to submit a feedback request to Apple about this bug.  Workarounds aside, it would be nice if Apple addresses this problem now as iOS 10 is not due out till the fall.

Here is the link that will take you to the iTunes feedback site.  You could just copy and paste the explanation of the problem from this discussion.  There is power in numbers although I am not sure what number of feedback requests must be delivered to Apple before it pays attention!  Cheers!

For what it's worth, it seems from what others say that this shouldn't show up in itunes.  In my case, it was just the Podcasts app.  No problem with Find My Friends.  So I looked at the full list of apps.  Sure enough, Find My Friends wasn't listed, but Podcasts was.  So I deleted Podcasts from the update screen.  When asked whether to remove it from Mobile Applications, I wasn't sure what to do so I left it there.

After that, I quit iTunes and restarted.  Podcasts is off the update list and not showing in the full application list so, hopefully, all is well.
