I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.3.2 and text to speech only works if a headset is plugged in. I can hear it just fine using the earbuds but it does not come out of the speaker if those are disconnected. Any ideas? I have rebooted, reset, and finally restored.

Check to see if your speaker is working. If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support

I also need to add that my speaker works for Siri, music, text, etc. There is nothing wrong with the speaker, just text to speech.

I turned Bluetooth off and back on and everything is working fine now. Why? I have no idea.
