mail el capitan not recognizing passwords

Updated to El Capitan and now Mac mail is now not recognizing my email passwords. Anyone have a solution? I did just change my Apple ID password but nothing is working that I try.

I'm having a similar issue. I was attempting to send an email from Mail using my iCloud account. Mail asked for pswd to other email account. Typed it in and saw spinning gear as it was verifying it. Wouldn't accept it. Said it couldn't verify it. Mail then put my email in the Outbox.

Closed Mail and reopend it. Tried to send it again from the Outbox. Again Mail asked for the pswd to other email account. Typed it in again and got the same results.

Checked the account info for both Mail accounts. Pwds were there.

Tried to send email again and Mail again asked for the pswd to the other email account. 😠

Finally, I logged into my iCloud account online to compose and send the email from there. No problem.

Don't understand what's going on here!

Why does Mail ask for a pswd to an account I'm not even trying to send email from?

Using 2011 MB Air. OSX 10.11.5
