I know how important it is to be able to run iTunes properly, as well. Without knowing what steps you have done to troubleshoot the issue, you might want to try the steps in this article:
Fix unexpected quits or launch issues in iTunes for Windows.
This will give you some great steps to troubleshoot, as well as a link to this article here if the steps don't work:
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later
If you do get to that step and have to reinstall, just be sure you uninstall the Apple components in the order listed in the article.
Remove iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
- iTunes
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Bonjour
- Apple Application Support 32-bit
- Apple Application Support 64-bit
On some systems, iTunes might install two versions of Apple Application Support. This is expected. If both are present, be sure to uninstall both versions.
Cheers!

Jun 15, 2016 3:44 PM in response to alex_h1by Vegan Advocate,I have iTunes on a notebook box with Windows 7 and it works with audio.
I also have it on build 10586 which does not seem to have issues
so I am wondering if there are issues with the more recent builds
