Not quite following you, since those characters are available from any optional view on the keyboard without changing. At least for pretty much any app I use. what app are you in?
I think that he means without having to use the ?123 key or the shift key and would rather have a dedicated key for those punctuation marks. However, the period and comma are readily accessible with no added key taps.
But, I am only guessing.
Those buttons are in the lower right hand corner where the "." "?" and "," are usually located. You can hold the shift key and easily get to the "?" and "!" keys, or you can swipe up on those buttons.

Yeah, not quite sure what it is he's looking for.
Actually you don;t have to "hold" the shift key, just tap it.
