The microphone on my iPhone 6 stops working for several seconds at a time and I can neither hear the person with whom I am connected, nor can they hear me. I have tried to bypass by using to different head sets and the problem remains. Trying to use the speaker button doesn't help either. Is this is hardware issue?

Hello Jumbly!

The microphone is an important feature to be working correctly on the iPhone. It's also important to be able to hear who you're talking to. I know I would want to figure out what was going on with it if I was running into the same issue. Good news is that we do have some steps here for you.

For the microphone issue, take a look at the steps in this article: Get help with the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

For the issue of not being able to hear the person you're talking to, take a look at this one: If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn't clear on your iPhone - Apple Support

Cheers!
