Q: New music not syncing to iPod Touch

I recently added a couple new CDs to iTunes by burning them (i.e. not through the iTunes store). When I try to sync these new songs onto my iPod Touch (5th gen, 64GB) iTunes completes the sync (either 4 or 6 steps as it loads) but the music doesn't appear on my iPod. Both the device and my copy of iTunes have been updated to the latest version as of 14/06/2016. I haven't received any error messages either.

This isn't an issue of capacity as I still have 12GB remaining and the songs I'm trying to sync only amount to 200MB tops.

Sync was working perfectly a couple weeks ago, but suddenly it isn't anymore. I've tried several times, restarting both my iPod and my computer.

Help would be appreciated!

Did you use Apple's iTunes CD I port feature to get them in a format compatible with the iPod?

Do they play OK in iTunes on the computer?

Does other media still now sync to the iPod?

Yes, I used iTunes to import the music from the CD, and it plays perfectly well in iTunes itself. I can edit the information, play it, etc.

I don't have any other media to sync, so I can't speak to that.

    Try:

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    - Unsync/delete all music and resync

To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music

    - Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

    - Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204184

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

When syncing isn't working properly the following steps should help, assuming all of the content you want is in your library.

(If it isn't see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.)

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restore as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup you made earlier.

That worked, thanks! I ended up unchecking my entire library, synced that (with the option "sync only checked songs") so my device was empty, then synced everything again after resetting and everything ended up where it should be. Thanks again!
