Q: Problem SSD Macbook Pro

Hello.

Recently I made the purchase of a Samsung SSD 850 evo and performed the installation according to Samsung's own tips (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mihb8YQzDxw&list=LL3FXtTPsf_dcteBdBwPvH4g&index= 1). "Could not unmount the volume" or when trying to clone the HD, "the source disk is only read / write".

Overall I had a lot of difficulty in performing the reading of the SSD and always failed in the installation of OS X.

What procedures should I follow?

My Macbook Pro is the beginning of 2011 model 13 '

Thank you.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), SSD Samsung 850 evo

I have no idea what you did or how you did it from your question. I suggest you check if you can perform a Network Recovery: Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery. Then do this:

Clean Install of El Capitan on a New Disk

    1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime hold down the Command-Option-R keys until a globe appears.
    2. The Utility Menu will appear in from 5-20 minutes. Be patient.
    3. Select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button.
    4. When Disk Utility loads select the drive (usually, the out-dented entry) from the side list.
    5. Click on the Partition tab in Disk Utility's main window. A panel will drop down.
    6. Set the partition scheme to GUID.
    7. Set the Format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
    8. Click on the Apply button, then click on the Done button when it activates.
    9. Quit Disk Utility and return to the Utility Menu.
    10. Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.

[Permission to use part or all of the above has been granted by Kappy, exclusively, to theratter.]

This should install El Capitan for you on the SSD. You may then transfer your files from your backup.

Do you still have the old HD? Did you put it in an external enclosure and is it possible to mount the old HD? Or did you install the old HD in lieu of the DVD/CD drive?

    Hello

I tried using the SSD in a case and format. I could format but does not install with the same error "It is not possible to disassemble the drive."

I'm getting this error every new attempt

It's an old case and worked well. So much so that I could format the SSD using it using another macbook.

After formatting the SSD, install it on macbook for installation of OS X, but the process complete giving no problem in removing the disc.

Really do not know what can be the reason.

All new drives need to be formatted before you can do anything.

Use Disk Utility>  GUID Extended Journaled

I did it, friend. I formatted the macbook properly. However the installation process is not completed.

I would do it again just for fun.  Select one partition from the drop down (not current)   Start over.

Friend, follows some pictures of the current state of the SSD. In its current state, still can not install OS X. The installation process fails as an error in the installation volume.

It is unclear to me what software you are using in an effort to make this happen.

If the new SSD is in an external enclosure—you successfully mounted it, and formatted the new drive—you can move the contents from your original HD (internal) to the new SSD using  Carbon Copy Cloner.

Have not tried the Carbon Copy Cloner, I will try. Well, I called the SSD via a USB case only to show the information.

Friend, this status incompatible SMART may have influenced on something?

I do not see SMART on your screen shots. Typically SMART is only on the Physical Volume (Parent drive): Verified or Failed.

USB drives do not allow for that protocol, so it's normal to say incompatible with SMART on external USB.

If you are using FileVault try turning it off first.
