Q: 40 GB of books have disappered from iBooks
I am a book nerd of the highest degree and have a lot of books/magazines. I use the latest version of iBooks on my iPhone 5 (iOS 9.3.2) and on my iPad Air 2. I store them in my iCloud Drive and currently there are 40 GB of fiction and non-fiction books/magazines - most of them non-iTunes. I know it may sound a lot for some people, bur not for me - I need everyone, I read everyone.
The app on my iPad Air 2 is working brilliant. Alla books are there. Just a few are downloaded, but I can see that the others are in my iCloud Drive and there is no problem to download them.
The app on my iPhone 5 has been working fine until a couple of days ago. Then suddenly I lost all books except the ones I bought from iTunes (~40 books). And iBooks started to crash after just 1 minute although no book was downloaded on it.
The app is, as you all know, not possible to delete and reinstall, so I did a factory reset and used a backup. This time I got back the iTunes books as before plus only 20 of the non- iTunes books/magazines. After that no more books have appeared and the app contimues to crash. The problem may be that I have to many books on the iCloud Drive, but I have not seen any information that there is a limit for iBooks, when it comes to downloading books/documents from the iCloud Drive that are non-iTunes.
I talked to the support, but they could not really help me. We tried every method they had to solve this. Their final advice was to do a factory reset again and use a backup from May. I will loose everything I have added after that date and I am not that keen on that - and I am also not sure that it will work.
Does anyone else have or have had this problem? Does anyone know how to solve this?
Greatful for any kind of help and advice.
