Q: iBooks - edited data not syncing to other devices

using iBooks, iCloud, El Capitan,  all upgrades are current - recently I edited all iBooks data on the iMac.  Expected this data to be synced to my iPad Air or iPhone when I plugged them in overnight. Nothing happened. Still waiting.   They are showing only partial lists of the documents with the old document names, collections and categories. Tried deleting complete app on the iPad to then have iCloud re-establish it, but iOS would not let me do this.  Can't even delete individual documents from iBooks on the iPad.....they all show the Cloud symbol, but the old names etc.

iPad, iOS 5.1.1, 27" Mac; Airport Express; OSX Mtn L

    Hi,

Keep your books up to date across your devices

If you start reading a book on one device, you can pick up where you left off on another device. Collections, highlights, notes, and bookmarks sync across all of your devices. Follow the steps below to sync.

    On your Mac

    • Open the iBooks app.
    • Select iBooks > Preferences > General.
    • Select "Sync bookmarks, highlights and collections across devices."
This setting is on by default.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    • Go to Settings > iBooks.
    • Select Sync Collections and Sync Bookmarks and Notes.
In iBooks 3.2 or earlier, select Sync Collections and Sync Bookmarks.

If you don't see all of your information on all of your devices, check your settings:

    • Make sure that you turned on the above sync settings on all of your devices.
    • Make sure that you're using the same Apple ID in the iBooks Store on all of your devices.

I have check on all three devices and the Sync is ON on all of them. I checked the sign in requirements and they are all set to my Apple ID.

All I can think of is that I missed a step in the Edit process, but as the system allowed me to go ahead and make the changes I felt comfortable that I had done all that was required. All edits were done on the iMac.

    Example my problem:

iBook on the iMac:  I have edited a Title to read.....   Auto Desk Sketchbook Pro Man.

iBook on the Cloud Drive reads.......   Auto Desk Sketchbook Pro Man.

iBook on the iPad reads.....   enu_sketchbook_pro_mas  (this was the file name that I originally imported and then edited on the iMac)

iBook on the iPhone reads.....   enu_sketchbook_pro_mas

I have the same problem. I checked all the points that you wrote in your post and they all were activated the way that you mentioned. Still the changes in my MacBook Air do not appear on my cell phone!

    What should I do now?
