Shared calendar not getting alerts?

So my wife created a calendar to be able to share with each other in regards to family related events. Baby doc appt, family gatherings etc. It seems that when she creates an event or vice versa, the alert settings never translate over to each others calendar. If she creates an event and adds an alert it will not reflect on to my calendar. If I create an event and add an alert it will not translate over to her calendar.

Can anyone shed some light on this? What am I missing here?

Hello flalestinini!

I know I want to be sure everyone who subscribes to my calendars get alerts as well. Without knowing exactly what steps you have done to troubleshoot, check out this article here: iCloud: Create events. Just be sure the calendar it's being added to is the one that is subscribed to by everyone.

I am not speaking of an actual alert to warn you that someone created an event. I am speaking of the alert to remind you of the event. For example I set the event to remind me 3 days before. If I do that my wife wont have that alert reminder on her end and vice versa.

If you’re not receiving notifications about events and shared calendars while signed in to iCloud.com or on your devices set up with iCloud Calendar, you may need to change your iCloud Calendar settings.

Change iCloud Calendar settings

In iCloud Calendar, click the Action pop-up menu in the sidebar, then choose Preferences.

In the Advanced pane, select “In-app notifications,” then click Save.
