Try putting your device into recovary mode by following this link If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support If it happens try using a different computer and make sure you use the original cable/Apple authorised cable.

If the next attempt to update as provided by the other poster fails, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store, or your Authorized Apple Service provider to have the hardware examined.
