Q: Does I cloud store older backups if your phone has been restored?

Basically I lost my current contacts. Apple restored the phone. And chose a backup from iCloud

im wondering if normally older backups remain on the cloud (if they were successful) After some one does  restore on the phone.

since what came back from the backup selected is the very first backup I ever did back Dec 25,2015.and I have been backing up routinely since then.

 

Thanks.. I'm new to Apple -from windows and blackberry and gmail  I got my phone in November and at that time I did a lot of editing to get my contacts right in the iPhone Contacts app. But I had some problems in syncing from my iPhone to my laptop which is Windows 7. So I just did my edits of gmail and iCloud contacts on the iPhone and it seemed to be updating fine on the laptop.

    Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities,

     

    Yes, the backups stored to iCloud will go back to the date and time that you turned 'backup to iCloud' on your device on. I believ you have to specify which items you want to backup, but if you have the items you want selected then they should be backed up.
