Maps recent searcges

Hi there,

Can anybody help me?

Well it's a strange one. I have tried to delete my recent map searches by going to my >favourites and pressing >clear.

However, this isn't working. 3 addresses still remain. How can I resolve this?

Thanks

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2

Hello fabina naz,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities!

If I understand correctly, you are unable to remove all the recent searches from Maps.

I would recommend that there are no pins remaining on your maps. You may also need to remove any location from Favorites that involves these remaining searches. Instructions on how to perform these steps can be found here: Remove pins or routes

Have a great day!

Good Day fabina naz,

Most likely there is a software issue that is preventing the removal of those searches. To remove them, you are going to want to restore the iPhone as new. Since this will erase all the content on the iPhone be sure to create a backup first. Backup instructions can be found here: How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes.

Once you have a backup, restore the iPhone as new, following these steps: How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups. Be sure to set up your device as a new device rather than restore the device from the backup. Once the iPhone is restored as new, look and see if the searches remain. If they do, then the best option would be to have the iPhone check out by an authorized service provider. You can find the closest one by looking here: Find Locations.

If the searches are removed, then go ahead and restore the backup using those same instructions: How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups. This time, be sure to use the Restore your device instructions.

If the searches return, this would indicate that there is something being loaded from the backup that is causing the issue. If that happens, you would need to set up as new again, and then install the apps that you need back onto the phone.

Have a great day!
