It would help to tell us about the file (i.e., from where you got it) so we don't have to do basic research to answer your question. DVF seems to be a proprietary Sony voice file which requires a Windows-only plugin. You probably can't play it unless you use Bootcamp to run Windows on your Mac. For sure iTunes cannot play it. You can try VLC but since this is an obscure proprietary format I kind of doubt it.

According to Switch's site it does. http://www.nch.com.au/switch/ If you are having problems with Switch you need to contact Switch's technical support. Another topic I read had somebody running Mac Switch but it could not open their DVF. If you find this to be the case then you may, as I already intimated, but without a solution unless you can borrow a PC or run Windows on your Mac.

- this person isn't really, they are converting on a PC then playing the converted file on a Mac.
I have no DVF files so I cannot see if any of the various sound utilities I have can do DVF.

- pretty much what I have already said
Yes, it is a Sony file from my old voice recorder. There is a software that can run on Mac to convert DVF files to wav or mp3 format?
