Password Manager built in?

I have heard a lot of hype lately about Password Managers and I believe I even read mention about a built in PM for Mac. I did a preliminary search and didnt see much of anything. So I want to know. Is there such a thing that is built right into the OS for Mac? Is it even a good idea? The thing I never liked about a password manager is... heaven forbid some terrorist gets into your password manager account or if the database is somehow hacked by Islamic extremists with fully auto-matic AR-15's you would be screwed for EVERY password you have stored.

If there isnt a built-in (Free) one what would be the best to use with a mac that would also work with my iPhone or ANY device?

Keychain is the Password Manager in OS X and it has been around for a very long time.

It's called Keychain and can be configured to sync to your other devices via iCloud Keychain. It's also built into Safari. It's very transparent, working in the background, so there's very little direct interaction with it from a user's point of view.
