15 minute memo won't play.

When I tap on the memo, the memo underneath starts playing. When I pause that one and try to play the correct memo again, the play button will not even respond. I e tried trimming it ( in case it was too long) and it doesn't seem to trim. I sent it to my email and when I opened up the file, it was a three second beep. I've restarted my phone and don't know what else to do. I REALLY need this memo. I was working on a new song and it all came out at once but I'll NEVER remember it if I can't hear this memo.

Thanks so much for the response. I don't use iCloud, so it wasn't even on. I checked. I just sent it to GarageBand and it came up as three bars of nothing. However, after it loads on the Music Memo app, the audio wave DOES show up so I know something is there. Sometimes it shows up as soon as I open it and sometimes I have to go to another memo and then back to the one that isn't working for it to show the audio.

Aher odd thing that may help you or someone else figure this out is that it's almost as if Music Memo is pretending it doesn't exist. When I click on it from my list on memos, it doesn't automatically play ( as you know) but the memo ABOVE OR BELOW it starts playing without me having selected it. Also, I can go into the memo to edit and when I try to trim ( thinking it was too long possibly), I move the red lines, click on trim, select make copy and then when I look, it's STILL 15:30 long, which means it didn't even trim it.

Any other suggestions? I noticed on the app's reviews at the App Store that this exact same thing has happened to others on very important memos ( ive had writers block for months and when I sat down today at the piano , the gates opened up and I had that magical experience of a song just coming out fully formed. That's rare. I was SO glad that it was recorded and now I can't retrieve it. It's driving me mad.)

You could try to shorten the list of memos by tagging this particular memo with a unique tag. Then search for this tag, so only this memo will show: That shouldprevent the skipping to the next memo, when you try to play it.

Tag an idea. Tap the Tag button User uploaded file below the music display, then tap a tag from the list.

You can search for tags and add tags using the search field.

This particular memo may have become corrupted, or some system caches may need to be refreshed. When was the last time you restarted the iPhone/iPad? Try to power off and on again.

Do you have a backup in iTunes that has been created, while the memo still played correctly?

SO I tried the tag idea. I made it the only memo with a tag, searched the tag and brought only that meno up. It still played the recording AFTER it although it wasn't even selected. Also, I've never had it play once, so no there is no back-up. I recorded it, got into the car, went to hit play and nothing happened, although test memos after work. Is there something in regards to it showing only the chords with no audio file at times? It's like it's a ghost.

ive turned off and on my phone tons. It doesn't fix it. How do I get rid of cache?

If restarting did not help, try Force Restart:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

The only other option would be to reinstall Music Memos, but that will wipe out all memos that are not in iCloud and you could not rescue your memo this way.

Frankly, I am at a loss what to do, since the memo cannot be shared to other applications and you could not make a backup.
