How to delete photos off iPhone after imported?

I can't for the life of me figure this out. I recently got the IPhone 6s and I wanted all my photos from my IPhone 5. I imported all my photos to my Mac and then reimported them onto my new iPhone. When I went to go look at my photos they were all doubled. I had two of every picture! I deleted one of each photo and I was happy at the time until my phone became out of storage. I had my husband transfer my photos to his computer but now it won't let me delete the photos off my iPhone. In some files such as, selfies and last 12 months it won't even give me the option to delete them when I select them. Help!

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.2

Howdy TuesdayAvila,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I see that you've synced photos using iTunes to your iPhone and now you'd like to remove those synced photos. Deleting synced photos is a different process compared to photos you took on your iPhone. I'm not sure if you still have the photos on the computer, so steps are provided below if you do or do not have them.

Delete photos and video synced from iTunes when you can’t access the originals

Turn off iTunes syncing

If you don't want the synced photos on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch anymore, turn off syncing in iTunes and they'll be removed from your device. You can turn off syncing for some of your photo albums or all of them at once.

Stop syncing some albums

  1. Open iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. Click on the device icon in iTunes.
  3. Click Photos.
  4. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections that you want to stop syncing.
  5. Click Apply.

Stop syncing all photos

  1. Open iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. Click on the device icon in iTunes.
  3. Click Photos.
  4. Deselect "Sync Photos" then click "Remove photos."
  5. Click Apply.

Keep your photos safely stored and up to date on all your devices

Have a good one.
