How to make my 4th gen Ipod conect to my pc

I have an Ipod nano 4th gen that will not show up on my acer notebok laptop. How to I get it to show up? I have gone through all the self help steps and nothing has fixed it. Asls my Ipod will only stay on so long as it it plugged in. As soon as you disconnect it from a power source it shuts off and will not turn on until plugged in. I bought it from a friend. thank you in advance.

It appears that you're having some issues with the iPod nano being recognized in iTunes on the PC. I know it is important to be able to connect the iPod to get the music on there. I will be happy to help you with this. I found this resource article that goes over some great information. You will want to view the section called, "If you use a Windows PC."
