Q: How do I keep using my v1 mini after iOS 10?

If you have an iphone/ iPad if it will not run the new ios 10 they will run ok on the last update ios 9 or below .

Just as you are doing now. It won't stop functioning!

The same way people keep on using their original iPad's since iOS 6 came out, or people use iPhone 4 since iOS 8 came out.  The device will keep on working just as it does now.

Depending on feature changes, you may find that you cannot update some apps, if they get updated to include iOS 10 specific features, but your existing apps and versions you have now will be fine.

It'll still work just fine. The only issues you'll notice, eventually, you wont' be able to put new apps on it since apps will lose their compatibility with iOS9. That said, it should be a while before that happens. And the apps that you do have on it should continue to work, if future app updates kill the iOS9 compatibility then they shouldn't; download.

There will be a lot of people in this same situation. THis is the first time that so many products have been ineligible for iOS updates (previously it was only the 1st gen iPad), but given issues people have had with new iOS demands and limited power of processors and RAM, being left behind may not be a bad thing. Better to not get an update than get one that may put more stress on your system than you want to deal with.
