iPod recognition issues
Hi,
I have recently bought an iPod nano 7th gen, and I am having trouble setting it up. The original user formatted the ipod for use with a mac (the device reads '1.0.4 Mac' in the ipod's settings menu), however I am using a windows PC. The following page, Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support, suggests for me to reset my ipod through iTunes, yet iTunes itself is unable to recognise the ipod. In order for iTunes to recognise the device, I believe I need to be following this page: If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support. I have reached stage 8 under 'Manually update the Apple mobile device USB driver' and have found the driver listed as 'usbaapl64', but when I click on Install, I receive the following Error message;
The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems.
Given this message, I don't really know where to go. Could someone please point me in the right direction? If it helps, in device manager, I actually found the iPod under Disk Drives, as opposed to USB controllers, as the web page indicates. I'm unsure as to whether this could be something I'm doing wrong.
Thanks, Adam
iPod nano, null
