iCloud Bookmarks Sync & Firefox Extension

I ran into the same thing today (July 20, 2016). I was getting tired of using IE, and so had added Firefox for my browsing enjoyment, but when I went to sync my iCloud bookmarks I also received the "add-on not found" page.

I guess that Mozilla "Blacklisted" the Firefox Extension on May 17, 2016.

Here are some links, but no real answers on where to go to get it the Extension since you cannot get it directly from the Mozilla community currently:

Currently (July20) gives indication "We're sorry, but we can't find what you're looking for."

Why was it blocked? This add-on is causing frequent and persistent crashing.

Who is affected? All users of this add-on. If you wish to continue using it, you can enable it in the Add-ons Manager.

iCloud Bookmark - Firefox Extension "Blocklisting" (Mozilla)

Block request above shows that it was corrected or resolved on May 27, 2016, but still throws the "We're sorry, but we can't find what you're looking for." message.

I don't believe it will work until Apple fixes the bug in it and creates a new version but I just download the bookmark extension from Mozilla at: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=8757442

If anyone can get it to work please let us know.

In Firefox 48.0.1 its working again (possibly because I have set extensions.strictCompatibility=false but I'm tired of experimenting). In ESR version of firefox (45.3.0 ESR?) I wasn't able to get it to work but I value my bookmarks so I'm content to run 48.0.1 non-ESR and have bookmarks synch with Safari on iOS.

Doh! This iCloud Bookmark extension works with 32-bit firefox (52.1.0esr) but not with 64-bit firefox. I'm OK with that.
