Q: Help

My mac is a 2009 macbook (white) and 256mb Vram is there anything I can do to upgrade this or would it just be wise to get a new mac? Cause I can't get that new mac right now...

 

I also dropped my iphone 6 and it's acting funny do I need a new iphone?

 

 

 

I am also running low on charge counts when should I get a new battery?

First of all, your MacBook hasn't got a Thunderbolt port, so you cannot use a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter. If you've got a Late 2009 MacBook, you have to look for a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter instead.

 

Respecting to your last question, we don't know if your desktop Mac supports Windows 8 if you don't tell us what model you have. You can find the supported Macs in this site -> Use Windows 8.1 on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support

    Your 2009 MacBook has got an integrated GPU, so it is not possible to upgrade it. However, you can upgrade its RAM and its HDD, in case you need more memory to run your applications or if you need more space. Apart from that, there's nothing else you can upgrade and that will provide you a performance boost.

     

    Respecting to the battery, OS X tells you when your battery has to be replaced. You can also use an app like coconutBattery, which lets you see your battery life and capacity to decide if you have to change your battery.

     

    Respecting to the question about your iPhone, ask in the iPhone forums, but it does not look too good if those problems started after dropping your iPhone.

     

    Finally, Apple does not support Windows 10 officially on your Mac. This means that there are no drivers for it, although you can still upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 from Windows. However, I suggest you to stay with Windows 7, as it provides the drivers your Mac needs to work properly.

    Thank you and how do I upgrade my ram and HDD and is there a way to Software update it? And does it officially supports windows 8?Will do for the Iphone

    Respecting to the RAM, Apple provides you the steps to do it -> MacBook: How to remove or install memory - Apple Support You can buy RAM from different sources, but we recommend OWC or Crucial.

     

    A HDD upgrade is a bit more difficult for the average user, but you can look for a guide to install a HDD in sites like iFixit.

     

    However, your Mac does not support Windows 8 officially. That means that you can install it, but Apple does not provide drivers to run Windows 8 on your Mac and it will not run properly.

    one more thing what thunderbolt to HDMI do you recommend for my mac so it can run at it's best? Also..if you don't mind I'll probably need for it to be maybe...under $30

    Can my mac desktop support windows  8? it's a fat mac desktop with a superdrive I been using my mac laptop alot just asking
