iCloud Music Library

I wanted to remove some songs from my phone in order to get more space, but in order to do that, I had to remove the iCloud Music Library option and manually select the music I wanted on my phone. But by doing this I can't save songs when I have the apple music subscription active. So, I turned on the icloud music library and the music I wanted to delete in the first place is back on my phone and the songs saved from the apple music subscription are gone. My question is: how do I delete music from the icloud music library? Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Dorut,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand wanting to manage your music and to create space on your iPhone. These articles will help you manage your music and create more space on your iPhone.

Delete songs and music videos from your iCloud Music Library

In the following article, there is a section to delete content manually. I have also highlighted the steps below the link.

If you need more space for an iOS update

In the Usage Settings menu, you can see how much space your apps use and delete the ones you don't need. You can always re-download your purchased apps or other content later. Follow these steps:

  1. Tap Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage.
  2. Select any app to see how much space it uses, and tap Delete App to remove it. Some apps, such as Music and Videos, let you delete parts of their documents and data.

Best Regards

I have a mix (one mp3 file) from my friend. I drag to iTunes library, but:

  • if iTunes music library is turned off on my iMac, I can listen or I can change all details, artwork etc.
  • if iTunes music library is on, the file seems a music file what I can't download from iCloud - with an inactive cloud icon. The location of the file in "Get info" is "iCloud" and iCloud status: Waiting and I can't change any details. All details are inactive. The file is totally inactive. I can't use. Why?

Why???

Earlier my iTunes music library automatically uploaded to iCloud Music library. Few days ago I have reinstalled my Mac. Now, some of my music files are inactive with inactive cloud icon, some albums availably partly. I can't understand why? I have a Time Machine backup, but there are no way to sync the full music library with this chaotic, (seems) partly downloaded iTunes library.User uploaded file
