Q: Uploading photo library from Mac to Icloud.

Hi,

So my Mac is full, mostly of photos and music!

I decided to sign up to ICloud in order to upload all my pictures from my Mac so free up space (i'm going to back up a time machine too, i think!) .

Trouble is i cant work out how to do it. I've followed steps online but they are not uploading, anyone got any advice?

If you're using iPhoto there is no way to do this. Move the Library to an external drive formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

If you want to store your Photo Library in iCloud you need to use the new Photos for Mac application. Only this application supports iCloud Photo Library. It requires OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite or a newer OS X version.

Which OS X version are you using?
If you want to migrate your iPhoto Library to Photos for Mac see: How Photos handles content and metadata from iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support

Only, Photos is very different from iPhoto and you may not like it at first.
