Q: My Photo Stream album has disappeared from the Photos app on my Mac Pro.  How do I restore it so I can easily locate the photos I shoot on my iPhone.

Until recently I had the My Photo Stream album on my Mac Pro Photos app.  It has disappeared.  Photos are still synching between my iPhone and the Mac, Photo Stream is turned on in all devices. Photo Stream album is visible on my iPhone and iPad...just not on the Mac.  Is there a way to recreate the album?  Without it, it is very difficult to find images that are shot on the mobile devices.

The My Photo Stream album will not be shown, if iCloud Photo Library has been enabled.  Did you enable iCloud Photo Library?

Without it, it is very difficult to find images that are shot on the mobile devices.

But you can find the photos from your mobile devices using a smart album with a Camera Model rule:

Try a rule "Camera Model is iPhone ..."

You can sort this album by the Capture Date.  And combine several camera rules with "Match Any ..."

What are you iCloud settings on all devices? It sounds like you are using iCLoud Photo Library instead of MyPhotoStream (if you have both set ICPL is used) - With ICPL the photos are in moments in place and not also in a special album

Thanks, Larry.  I was not aware that iCloud Photo Library trumped Photo Stream. I turned off ICPL and Photo Stream appeared on the Mac, though interestingly, not will all the images that are in it when viewed on my mobile devices.

On each device MPS shows all on the photos on iCloud MPS (the latest 30 days or 1000 photos) plus all the photos added to MPS from that device up to a max total of 1000 - so the norm is for each device to have a different set of photos in MPS - only if MPS has been continually in use from the same point in time on a set of devices will they have the same photos in the MPS album
